Disorganized Rebels

Sean David Grant

I recently performed a spoken word piece at LifeBridge church in Ackworth, Ga named Disorganized Rebels.  They asked me to write something to inspire their people to start serving more in the church.  It was to follow the message and I was to start during the transition of the song With Everything by Hillsong.  Here is what I came up with:

Disorganized rebels

With no cause for alarm

Because cautions gone to the wind

But still no honor given to God.

Because our excuse is that living is hard

But the excuses given are flawed

In the face of a flawless God.

I too had to scrape off the same fake façade

I was once in the same place.

Complacent faith

A waste of space

With adjacent grace

That still made a way for me to take this stage

I had no desire to be here.

No desire to be seen

Just a quiet pre-teen

Mired in self doubt

That required I stay silent

But inside my heart screamed

I knew what I needed to do

That I needed to move

I needed to use what he gave me to

Prove that he made me and you.

Inspire a generation of youth

To take their place in the fight for our nations

Refusal to worship our savior

Whos only desire is to make them brand new.

I’m taking a stand

You can too.

To get involved with his plan

You can choose.

To fall in

All in love

All Him

All he wants.

Nothing else matters

He’s calling us

To conjure up

The confidence needed to

Conquer

Up from your seats if your ready to offer

Up your life in response to a soft word

A Whisper from God

In the midst of the mist and the fog

Don’t miss it

Don’t offer resistance

Its not often this instance occurs

When your heart is ripped with His words

When you can see your purpose right at the tips

Of your fingers

As the spirit lingers over the waters of your soul

Take hold of this moment and never let it go.

Disorganized rebels

With no cause for alarm

Because cautions gone to the wind

But still no honor given to God.

Because our excuse is that living is hard

But the excuses given are flawed

In the face of a flawless God.
